A friend and past student of mine, Cindy Goolsby of Louisiana, is making the Acadian Rug Hooking Frames. I’ve had a lot of emails recently asking where to get them, so Cindy sent me some information. Leave a comment below if you’ve used one of these frames. I have not used this frame. I am posting this information because so many visitors have asked about it and Cindy Goolsby does not have her own website. I use a Puritan frame on my collapsible floor frame. Whatever frame you use, I highly recommend a stand of some sort. The contortions your body goes through to hold a frame on your lap will limit the amount of time you can comfortably hook each day.

I have owned my Acadian floor frame for almost a year now. Except for a small collapsible lap frame that I take to day hooking events, the Acadian is used exclusively. It disassembles and assembles easily for travel to camps or other longer stays elsewhere. This past winter “Ralph” went with us to Florida in his own suitcase. I chose cherry wood for its beauty. It is the best frame I have ever used. It gives the hooker full rotation, height adjustment, and angle adjustment as well.

I have two of these stands and a 13×16, 16×20, 16×16, and 20×20 frame….I am going to pick up a 12×12 frame this weekend to do needle punch and small hooking projects on….love love these frames…..I chose oak because it is such a hard wood it takes a lot of abuse when traveling……
I have this frame and absolutely love it! I have the floor frame and thought I would only use it for larger, heavier rugs. However, I like it so much I tend to use it on all my projects! I still have my Puritan floor frame but never use it. I would much rather have the Acadian because of its ability to move into any position or angle I could ever want! I do not need to take my rug off the frame, instead I can rotate or move the frame to hook a tight spot or a curve in my pattern. It is well made and also lovely in my great room! If anyone is looking for a good floor frame, they won’t be disappointed by this one!
I have been using the Acadian frame for seven years now. It is my travel frame and is easy to take apart and fit into a suitcase. I also have the lap frame. They are both excellent !
I’ve had many frames over the years and this Acadian frame is the most wonderful I’ve ever used. Love love love it.
