How to Create Your Own Website – for FREE

Getting your own website is as simple as going to www.wordpress.com and signing up. From there you can choose from a few options to customize your site and begin creating content. It is as simple as sending an email with an attachment.

You can write a blog about anything you like. Most rug hooker’s blogs contain topics about rug hooking sprinkled with some personal information. Your blog can be about anything you like. You can make it public or keep it private — it’s your choice.

Your web address, or domain, will be something like mywebsite.wordpress.com. If you need a “real” address you will have to do a self-hosted WordPress installation. That’s where I can help. Getting started with the free version is a great way to test out the system and get your feet wet. All the content you create can be converted to your new site.
